In these times, I personally use supplements to support my immune health. I believe that God, in His great wisdom, has provided us with many natural tools to nourish our bodies and strengthen our defenses. some can be found easily in a tablet while others can be found walking along a forest trail. The following are all easy to get online. Thank God for amazon!

Here, I want to share a few of my favorite supplements that I use with prayerful intention. These have supported me on my wellness journey, and I hope this information will bless and guide you as well.

Zinc

Zinc is a mineral that helps our immune cells do their job — from fighting off viruses to healing wounds. It’s like a tool in the hands of our body’s defense team. I take zinc especially during the winter months or at the first sign of a sniffle. Or if I have been around sick people.

Selenium

Selenium is a trace mineral that plays a big role in antioxidant defense. It helps protect our cells from damage and supports the thyroid, which itself helps regulate immune function. I like to think of selenium as a little helper that keeps the engine running smoothly. I do put this one aside when I have Brazilian nuts to eat. They are high in selenium too.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3 is often called the “sunshine vitamin” — and for good reason. It supports immune resilience and helps calm excessive inflammation. For those of us in cooler climates or who don’t get enough sun exposure, supplementing can be so important. You can take this one in higher doses and take Vitamin K to help them work well together.

Oregano Oil

Oregano oil contains natural compounds that have antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It’s one of my go-to supports. I take this daily as a preventative measure.

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC)

NAC helps the body produce glutathione — a master antioxidant that protects and detoxifies. I find NAC especially helpful during times when my lungs or sinuses feel taxed, as it helps thin mucus and support clear breathing.

How These Work Together

These supplements don’t work in isolation. Together, they form a team:

  • Zinc, Selenium, and Vitamin D3 work together to strengthen the immune shield and protect against cell damage.
  • NAC and Selenium support your body’s detox systems, which indirectly strengthens immunity.
  • Oregano Oil and Zinc are a great combo at the first signs of a bug.
