Nurturing Nerves

Being Relaxed and Having Restful Sleep

Our nervous system is like the communication network of the body. It helps us think clearly, move gracefully, and find calm in the middle of life’s storms. Sleep, too, is one of the most precious gifts from God — a time when the body restores, repairs, and renews.

I’ve found that certain simple, natural helpers can make a meaningful difference in supporting nerve health and peaceful rest. Today, I share with you what I personally use and trust.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in nerve health. It helps form the protective covering around nerves (called the myelin sheath) and is important for energy, mental clarity, and mood balance.

I take B12 regularly to support my nervous system and to help prevent fatigue and low mood, especially during busy or stressful seasons.

Magnesium

Magnesium full spectrum is one of nature’s great calming minerals. It supports the nervous system, helps muscles relax, and plays a role in restful sleep. Many people today don’t get enough magnesium through food alone, making supplementation a gentle and wise choice.

I take magnesium in the morning and evening. It helps in staying relaxed in the day and later, unwind from the day and encourage deeper, more restorative sleep.

How These Work Together

  • B12 supports healthy nerve function, clarity of thought, and energy levels during the day.
  • Magnesium helps the nervous system shift into rest mode, preparing the body for peaceful sleep.

These two work hand in hand, with B12 strengthening the nerves and magnesium calming and relaxing them.

A Closing Word

God has created our bodies with incredible design, and He invites us to care for them as His temple. As Psalm 4:8 reminds us:
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.”

May you find peace, clarity, and rest as you nourish your body and soul.
