Faithful Movement for God’s Glory
Let me be honest—I have to fight with my body some days. It wants to sleep longer than it should. It wants to sit and let TV wash over my mind. And sometimes, I let it. But I’ve learned over time that a life surrendered to Christ includes how I steward this physical body too.
At 47, I know I’m not old. I also know I can be super fit, energetic, and clear-minded—but that doesn’t just happen. It takes commitment. Not perfection, but consistency. Consistently eating well, fasting as led by the Lord, and moving my body—even if the movement is small.
Some days, I wake up heavy-hearted. For whatever reason, joy feels far away. But I’ve trained myself with one simple habit:
“Jump on the rebounder for just 10 minutes.”
More often than not, 10 minutes turns into 20 or even 30. And wouldn’t you know it—98% of the time, my mood lifts, my mind clears, and I’m far more ready to face the day.
This isn’t about fitness for vanity or performance. It’s about faithful stewardship. About offering this body—stiff, tired, or sluggish—as a living sacrifice to the One who gave it breath.
🕊️ What Does the Bible Say?
Here’s what God’s Word teaches us about our bodies and how we care for them:
1 Corinthians 6:19–20
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
Romans 12:1
“I appeal to you… by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
1 Timothy 4:8
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
Proverbs 31:17
“She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.”
Galatians 5:22–23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…”
3 John 1:2
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”
Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
This is About Worship, Not Shame
God is not waiting for you to “fix” your body before He delights in you. He’s calling you to partner with Him—stewarding your health out of love, not guilt.
Movement can be worship. Nutrition can be worship. Rest can be worship. And healing—true healing—starts not with pressure, but with surrender.
So if you’re in a season of recovery, low energy, or discouragement, hear this:
Start small. Start with Him.
A walk around the block. Ten minutes on a rebounder. A good stretch in prayer. Whatever it is—do it with the intention to glorify God.
Let’s walk this out together. One obedient step at a time.
