Why I Rebound: Grace, Healing, and The Joy of the Jump

Honoring God Through Movement, Healing, and Joyful Stewardship of the Body

Bouncing with Purpose

Beloved, did you know that joyful movement can be an act of worship? For nearly ten years, rebounding has been a daily grace in my life — a space to reconnect with my body, clear my mind, and invite the Holy Spirit into my wellness routine.

Sometimes I bounce while praying. Other times I bounce while listening to worship. And yes, occasionally I bounce while wondering what in the world I’m cooking for dinner.

But every bounce is rooted in this truth:

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV)

What Is Rebounding — and Why Does It Matter?

Rebounding is simply jumping gently on a mini-trampoline, often just a few inches off the surface. It looks simple — even silly — but don’t underestimate it.

This humble little trampoline is doing God’s work in your lymph nodes, joints, core muscles, and yes — even your pelvic floor. I strongly recommend you get one for your kids too. It really can be of great benefit to them too!

Here’s what makes it such a blessing:

Health Benefits of Rebounding:

  • Lymphatic Drainage:
The bounce motion pumps your lymphatic system, which supports detoxification and immunity.
  • Pelvic Floor Strength:
With gentle, low-impact bouncing, you can activate and strengthen the muscles that support your bladder and core — without heavy impact or risky exercises.
  • Bone Density Boost:
Just 10 minutes a day can help prevent osteoporosis and strengthen bones through gentle, weight-bearing motion.
  • Joint-Friendly Movement:
Unlike running or jumping on concrete, the rebounder absorbs shock, protecting knees and hips — perfect for every age and stage.
  • Mood & Mental Clarity:
Rebounding increases circulation, reduces cortisol (stress hormone), and often helps you feel more clear-headed and joyful. (Yes, bouncing for Jesus is also like brain food.)

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)

  • Worship in Motion:
When you use movement as prayer or praise, it becomes a sacred space — a chance to release tension and receive healing and deep joy.

“Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
Psalm 150:6 (KJV)

“And David danced before the Lord with all his might.”
2 Samuel 6:14 (KJV)

Grace-Led Rebounding Workout Plan

This isn’t a “push till you drop” kind of plan. This is joyful movement, beginner-friendly, and manageable for any schedule.

Beginner Weekly Plan:

Goal: 15–25 minutes, 3–4 days per week
Focus: Worship, wellness, and pelvic floor support

Daily Structure

Warm-Up (5 min):
Gentle bouncing while praying or deep breathing.
Invite the Holy Spirit into the space and giving power to your body, and mind. Thank God for your health.

Pelvic Floor Activation (5 min):
Place a soft ball or folded towel between your knees.
Gently bounce while lightly squeezing — engaging the core and pelvic floor muscles.

Joyful Movement (10 min):
Include fun movements like:

  • Side steps
  • Light jumps
  • Marching knees
  • Gentle twist-bounces

Put on worship music. Smile. Laugh. Move in joy!

🙏 Cool Down + Stretch (5 min):
Slow your bounce. Step off the rebounder. Stretch your arms overhead. Breathe in God’s peace. Offer thanks.

Closing Thoughts: Faith in Every Bounce

Your body is a temple — not a project. When you move it with intention, joy, and grace, and A heart posture towards honoring your maker, you’re not just working out… you’re worshiping.

Whether you rebound in 5-minute bursts or commit to a full routine, the point is faithfulness, not perfection. I aim for a minimum of 10 minutes 2-3 times a week. Also on days that I don’t feel like jumping, I start to jump and my mood changes. I become more willing to be there. I turn I thoughts toward healing and the grace I receive both from myself and God, makes it possible that the 10 minutes turns into 30!

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Romans 12:1 (KJV)

Let rebounding be your daily invitation to release, renew, and rejoice. I’ll be bouncing right there with you (metaphorically — unless we start a club!).
